How flexible are mentor meeting timings?
Meetings of four senior students with their mentors are now timetabled each semester. The theme is “choice and change” and this is in response to feedback from senior students. Each mentoring meeting is preceded by a whole year group preliminary talk, e.g. on CVs and applying for housejobs. The mentoring meetings are therefore timetabled at an appropriate date to follow. Obviously both mentors and students have significant clinical commitments, so it may be necessary to re-schedule the meeting dates for mutual convenience within a week either side. Evening meetings may be another possibility.
