How Fast is the Earth Moving?
That’s a tricky one, because the Earth is spinning and orbiting the Sun, the Sun is orbiting in the Milky Way, and the Milky Way is moving in the rest of the universe. So, we might as well start at the first one: the Earth is spinning at 1,670 km/h, and orbiting the Sun at 108,000 km/h! To add to that, the solar system is moving around in the Milky Way at 900,000 km/h and the Milky Way is moving throughout the rest of the universe at over a million km/h! So, which ever way you look at it, there Earth is moving pretty fast!
