How fast is the DIRECWAY System?
The Business Basic package is 400 Kilobits download. Which means you can download a 1 Megabyte file in about 10 seconds. The upload is between 30 to 90 Kilobits per second, which is twice as fast as your standard 56K modem. DO I NEED A PHONE AND DIAL-UP MODEM? When the system is installed, you will need to have a phone line to activate the modems. After installation, a modem is optional (the DiRECWAY software will automatically fall back to using a dialup modem, if there are problems with the satellite signal). CAN I NETWORK A DIRECWAY SYSTEM? Yes. If your system has the DW4020 Satellite Router networking is already provided. If not, web browsers can share the DiRECWAY connection as-is – but other software (such as e-mail, FTP, Telnet, etc) require add-on software on the gateway computer. We recommend using the DW4020 Router. CAN I USE BROWSER xxxx WITH MY DIRECWAY CONNECTION? Yes. No problem. The Direcway platform allows you to use any browser you desire. IS THERE A USAGE LIMIT? Yes.
