Parts of the Tri-State are cleaning up after severe weather passed through the area overnight. There are still some weather related issues to be aware of. Meteorologist Larry Handley says there was about a 40 percent chance of more rain Friday morning in the form of scattered leftover showers or storms. Larry says more rain could be a big problem – especially for drivers – as any more precipitation could contribute to dangerous flooding. The flash flood warnings issued for many parts of the Tri-State overnight have expired, but Larry warns there remains a risk of high water and potential for some flooding. This will especially be a problem if we get any more rain throughout the day. Drivers should be prepared to allow extra time to reach their destinations, as high water has prompted officials to close some roadways. Downed power lines are also becoming a problem for motorists.
