how fast do the paintballs travel?
This can vary depending on the type of marker (gun) being used, and the amount of propellant gas left, etc. but all of our site guns are checked with a ‘chronograph’ before being used at the start of the day. The chronograph measures the speed that the paintballs leave the barrel of the marker to ensure that they are within acceptable standards. Our guns are chrono’d to an approximate speed of 250 feet per second, which is just over 170 miles per hour! This is the main reason that we must lay down and enforce such a strict set of safety rules – especially with masks, which are the most important piece of your equipment when playing paintball.
