How fast can someone pick up skiing or boarding?
The easiest sport for YOU to learn is the one you think will be the most fun. Some people have heard it’s easier to learn to snowboard if you learn to ski first, but that’s not the case. We’ve seen plenty of skiers who take a spill or two when they try snowboarding, and snowboarders who can’t seem to make their skis go the same direction the first time they try two boards. The first snow sport you learn will be the most difficult. But once you master the first one, it’s easier to pick up a second one, because you will have mastered some basic principles of sliding on snow, such as balance and using the edges of your equipment to turn and stop. So choose the one you want to learn, take a lesson or two, and you’ll have fun before you know it.
