How far is Scafell Pike? How long does it take to walk there?
Wasdale Valley provides the most direct start point for hiking to the summit of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. By the shortest route from the campsite, the summit is approximately 4km away. If you were to walk a circular route back to the campsite via Great End and Sprinkling Tarn, you should allow a whole day for your walk. Obviously the duration will vary according to the fitness and age of your group and will also be dependent on weather conditions and navigation ability.
