How far is Los Angeles from Monument Valley?
Monument Valley is about 20 miles north of the 4 state junction of AZ-NM-UT-CO. You need to take the I-15 to the I-40 to the far end of Arizona. Probably a 10-12 hour drive from LA, but I am guessing. Go to Google Earth and zoom in on the 4 corner area and scroll north to get a glipse of the area. It is on an Indian Reservation and cost a few dollars to take the car tour, which when I went there was a dirt road. Very scenic area and unique geography, with the sandstone towers several storys high. John Ford filmed several movies in the area, including “She wore a yellow ribbon” with John Wayne. I want to go back with a digital camera(it was that long ago).
