How far in advance should I contact the Regional Broker to request transportation?
It is recommended that you contact your Regional Broker to request non-emergency medical transportation at least 7-14 days in advance of your healthcare appointment. The advanced notice of your request for transportation may increase the likelihood a ride can be found for you. If your request is made less than two business days before your appointment, your Regional Broker may ask you to try and reschedule your medical appointment as transportation may not be available. Information to have ready when you call: • Your DSHS Medical Assistance ID Card • Your complete pick-up address • The name, and phone number of your medical provider • Exact appointment date and time • The type of healthcare appointment (i.e. dialysis, OB, dental, etc.
