How far in advance do I need to enter and transmit a payment so that it gets paid on time?

You should allow five (5) business days for a “check” payment to be posted with your payee, and three (3) business days for an “electronic” payment. When using the calendar tool to select the payment date, the estimated arrival date will be displayed for easy reference.
