How far in advance do I need to book my flight tickets?
You can book the tickets the day of, if you have the money to do it. Usually, prices go up in the days before you fly. However, airlines also have specials if they can’t sell the seats, and sometimes you can get an incredibly cheap deal. Airfare Watchdog is a great website to find out about these. So, basically, if you wait, you’re gambling on how it will go. Farecast says they can predict whether airfares will go up or down, but outside sources say they’re only a little better than flipping a coin.
