Closest galaxy is The Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy, only around 25,000 ly from us. That said though, the closest non-satellite galaxy is Andromeda, at around 2.5m ly. Other close galaxies include LMC, SMC – satellite galaxies of the milky way, among others – Triangulum and Barnard 33 – other galaxies in the Local Group.
