The Smoke-free Premises etc. (Wales) Regulations 2007 do not specifically set out how far smoking shelters should be sited from other walls/premises etc. Distance from other structures is however important as it is essential to ensure that there is adequate ventilation of the structure and the flow of fresh air is not impeded. We would therefore encourage as great a distance as is reasonably practicable between compliant shelters and other relevant structures.
