The barrier reef is just about 1/2 mile offshore from San Pedro and most sites are within 3 miles. Surface intervals are frequently done on shore between dives. Offshore sites like the Blue Hole, Lighthouse Reef and the Turneffe Islands are about 50 miles from San Pedro. Travel time is about 2 hours each way. The trips go at 5:30 AM and return about 5 PM.
