How Extreme is the ISU football team?
Bloomington, Illinois – With a Division I school in our backyard, it’s only natural that Extreme coaches are recruiting locally. Bloomington Extreme Head Coach, Ted Schmitz announces seven more former Illinois State University football players to sign with the team. “Illinois State has done a great job at recruiting players, and the players are excited to stay in this community to play professionally. We’re lucky to have two top-notch universities in this community,” said Schmitz. Dennis Butler of Chicago was a former defensive back, wide receiver and kick re-turner for ISU. In 2001 he received Gateway All-Newcomer Team honors, ranking fifth and 39th nationally in kickoff returns. He had 28 kick returns on the season for 660 yards; the longest single-catch return was 50 yards against SE Missouri State on September 22, 2001.
