How exactly does a chapter or certain individuals get on probation, suspension, or even barred forever?
Folks get probation for minor stuff like fighting. Most chapters when they get back on the yard after a suspension, they are on probation for a certain period of time. Folks get suspension for underground pledging and hazing incidents. Chapters usually get suspended for getting busted for hazing or fighting and someone ends up seriously injured. Expulsion from the org happens when someone is seriously injured or killed from hazing and the individuals involved are charged with a crime by the local authorities. Chapters get shutdown for continuously being involved in hazing incidents and someone is serious injured or killed and the chapter gets sued or the school kicks them off the yard permanently so nationals usually yanks that charter.
