How exactly do Saiyans trigger the super saiyan transformation?
Well, if your referring to the show, this would be up for debate by many. It was different for every saiyan. For Goku and Gohan it was pain of loss that pushed them through to super saiyan. Of course it wasnt just that. A lot of training was needed for them. It’s kinda speculation but you need to exceed a power level over 100,000 ans (measurement of power spirit power). To give you a point of reference, Goku was about 10,000 ans when he first fought Vegita. For Goten it was anger. Though being that he was only 7 he couldn’t have had much training. Future Trunks also used loss when android 17 and 18 kill Gohan. The younger Trunks is unknown. For Vegeta is was determination. I guess you could say that he used anger, but I like to think it was pure strength. These, though educated, are just my opinion. The only way to get something factual is to ask the creators…
