How exactly do Colony, Trade, and Transport fleets interact with combat?
Firstly for unescorted Fleets (Fleets in deep space without escorts or in a system with no other friendly units) • A Colony, Trade, or Transport Fleet does follow all the normal scenario generation rules for any other fleet (Interception, Pursuit, etc.) • However, an unescorted Fleet that is forced into a scenario is destroyed For fleets that are escorted: • The entire Fleet counts as a single ship that must be added to a squadron, the Command Cost (CC) for each Fleet is: Colony 3, Trade 1, Transport 2 • The Fleets have no combat factors (no AS or AF). They also have no Command Rating (CR) and so cannot be command ships (squadron or fleet). • The defense value (DV) of each fleet is equal to its base cost (Colony 30, Trade 15, Transport 20). These are high because of the sheer number of ships each fleet represents.
