how environmentally-friendly is the production of Eurothane boards and how environmentally sound are the boards?
No CFCs are used in the production of Eurothane. Recticel Insulation has actively contributed to the development of the CFC-free production of PUR insulation boards. For that reason Recticel Insulation was even awarded the “First Prize” Environmental Award for Industry in 1994 for the production of “CFC-11 free” insulation panels. Environmental awareness goes further than solely not using CFCs. Eurothane insulation boards have a very high insulating capacity (very low -value) and this contributes to major energy savings. As a result, the emission of flue gas from heating installations is much lower, which contributes to improving the environment. Recticel Insulation PIR products score an ‘A’ Rating in the Green Guide. Global Warming Potential (GWP) of <5 Ozone Depleation Potional (ODP) of 0 Recticel Insulation has also signed contracts with Lloyds Registrars and are currently undertaking the ISO 14001 Standard. Completion expected by end of 2010.
