There are two ways – the first way is by counting them towards your electives (there are four of these within the course). The second way, and may be appropriate for those students who have completed a substantial part of another university course, would be to count them towards a major within the BIT (a major is made up of 8 subjects). For university students: A simple case will illustrate this – suppose that you have previously completed (or substantially completed it) a University degree in Geophysics. If you wanted to do the IT course with a major in Geophysics, then 8 of your previous subjects would count as this major, but if you wanted to do any of the BIT computing majors, you would only be able to count 4 Geophysics subjects as electives. As you would appreciate each major is made up of different subjects so it is possible that you will obtain more credits depending upon which major you choose to do.
