How effective is microcurrent stimulation?
Low-frequency microcurrent works directly on the nerves and muscle fibers, in addition to improving blood circulation, collagen and elastin production. In a 2003 study by Dr. Chai at the University of Washington Pathlogy Department, microcurrent stimulation, when applied to skin tissue, showed a: • 10% increase in the collagen thickness of the connective tissue; • 35% increase in the number of blood vessels; • 45% increase in the number of elastin fibers in the dermal layer; and • 35% increase in blood circulation in the tissue (circulation attributes to health, condition and color of skin).
