How effective is Dianette (combined Pill) as a contraceptive?

0

Dianette, just like every other combined pill, is over 99% effective, provided you use it properly, as in take it at the same time every day, never miss a pill, don’t have sickness or diarrhoea whilst relying on it, and aren’t taking anything like antibiotics or St. Johns Wort which might affect its effectiveness. Also, they don’t normally prescribe Dianette solely for contraceptive use because of its high dosage, you can’t be on it for more than about 3 months at a time, and it’s usually only given if there is another problem you’re using it for such as acne or PCOS. If you’re not on it for any other reason than to use it as a contraceptive, I’d question the place you got it. You might need to be switched to a lower dose pill, because the health risks are higher with this one and you shouldn’t be on it indefinitely.
