How effective is an American English disc in masking other languages and dialects?
The closer the language and dialect of the masking disc is to that spoken by the target(s) the more effective the masking. Independent testing has shown that American English is surprisingly effective for masking several different languages but we always recommend using masking discs with voices as close to the language, dialect and voice characteristics, such as male or female, of the target(s).
