This was selected as Best Answer It is not too easy to get into internal recruitment as many others wouldn’t mind doing so as well. So it is competitive. Generally speaking internal recruitment is less stressful. You will still have targets and KPIs to meet but it is likely you will not be micro-managed on those targets. One major disadvantage of internal recruitment is the bureaucracy that many large corporations have in place that at times can be very frustrating for their internal recruiters (to go through all the stages and the paper work etc…) Internal recruitment is there to cut costs otherwise all companies would stick to agencies since agencies can do a much better job. Therefore what they look for is great head-hunters who can do the same job for lower cost. Interpersonal and negotiation skills would be of high priority. A degree or two would be nice and obviously they need to be highly literate and understand business processes.
