How does X10 work technically?
The core technology that enables X10 products to operate is based on over 20 years of research and development. The 2-way technology capable system operates on existing house wiring to achieve powerful home automation, control and security system benefits. Because the system works on existing household wiring, this allows simple plug-and-play operation using a basic system of controllers, and modules, along with the added benefit of wireless remote controller features. X10 communicates between transmitters and receivers by sending and receiving signals over the power line wiring. These signals involve short RF bursts which represent digital information. X10 transmissions are synchronized to the zero crossing point of the AC power line.
