Windows XP can’t read the file table on a Re-Writable disc because there is in’t one. Nero takes longer because it’s writing the file table as it goes along. That is because the disc doesn’t have a file table, one has to be written. So after the disc has been erased, Nero writes a file table and that takes time. In other words Nero formats a Re-Writable disc just as you would format a hard drive on your computer.
