How does weather, surface and other horses affect the lunging process?

0

Well weather could be a distraction – i.e windy weather could wind the horse up, so could thunder. Heavy rain would distract both horse and lunger. Snow would make it difficult to lunge etc. Surface – if done in a field and it had been raining or generally a slipping surface will put the horses balance off and they may slip, uneven ground could make them stumble where as good ground i.e a sand school or the like would help balance and support the legs. Other horses may distract the horses attention from the person in the middle, it may wind them up and they may use it as an excuse to ignore aids.
