WCATY identifies academically talented youth through its affiliation with Midwest Academic Talent Search (MATS). MATS is coordinated through the Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University. Recognizing that there are many different kinds of talent, each with its distinct assessment and development needs, WCATY has chosen to focus its efforts on behalf of students with high academic ability.
