How does Veridian’s plug-in hybrid solar electric car work?
Veridian’s plug-in hybrid solar electric car is a one-of-a-kind vehicle, different in important ways from traditional hybrid vehicles. Hybrid cars combine a conventional gas engine with an electric motor. The vehicle is powered by the electric motor at low speeds, and by gas as it accelerates. Veridian’s plug-in hybrid solar car takes hybrid technology one step further thanks to a larger battery capable of storing an electric charge that allows the car to run off both grid-generated electricity and solar-generated electricity, in addition to gasoline. For short distances, the car can run solely on electricity. On days when the sun doesn’t shine, and at night, the car plugs in to a Kazekamome wind turbine/solar panel located on the front lawn of Veridian’s corporate headquarters in Ajax, or into a normal receptacle in the home.
