How does Ulpan La-Inyan work?
• Ulpan La-Inyan consists of daily lessons (five days a week for most courses) of approximately one hour. • The bulk of the learning takes place in the first half of the lesson, the audio portion. During this portion, no more than 12 participants in a class are introduced to new words and then prompted to recall them according to a specific schedule – in interesting, practical (and often entertaining) context. • During the second portion of the lesson, participants familiarize themselves with the Hebrew writing system by matching letters and written words with the sounds they represent. They learn to read the way children do – with prior verbal knowledge of the language.
