How does UJA MetroWest help Jews beyond MetroWest and Israel?
In the former Soviet Union, many thousands of poverty-stricken elderly Jews receive food packages and hot meals, winter clothing, medicines, and health aide visits. Community organizations and Jewish education programs are reviving Jewish life. A nutrition program aids the Falas Mura in Ethiopia, who are now beginning to leave for Israel, where they will require additional assistance. In Argentina, Jews receive help with food and other basic necessities, as well as vocational retraining and job placement.
