How does UCit determine the size of a communications closet?
The building communications room and the telecommunications closets are sized according to the size of the space they service. Large buildings with many offices and rooms require a substantial amount of electronic equipment, racks and cable to service their computer, network, and telecommunications needs. Electronic data and telecommunications equipment requires a room with adequate space for cooling and ventilating the equipment, accommodating the cable plant main distribution frame (MDF), accessing the equipment by technicians, and providing room for future growth and changing technology.
