How does U.S. policy toward Iraq affect international police from Islamic countries?
On the grounds of the district prison in Kosovska Mitrovica at least three members of international police have been killed and six wounded when at approximately 15,00 hours on April 17, 2004 an armed clash broke out between members of international police from Arab countries and UN police from the United States. According to the testimony of one KFOR soldier, the attacker – a UN policeman from Jordan – was killed during the clash, one U.S. policewoman was also killed on the scene and a second died of her wounds in Kosovska Mitrovica Hospital. However, the list of casualties and wounded is not yet complete. On the basis of information from several sources, the Serb hospital in Northern Mitrovica admitted seven of the total of 11 wounded persons, according to Neeraj Sing, the spokesman of the UNMIK police. Of the seven wounded in Mitrovica Hospital, five are policewomen, six are U.S. citizens and one is an Austrian citizen. Five persons were seriously wounded by gunfire, three operation
