How does TTV grade the quality of the Spanish translation?

0

TTV’s goal is to provide understandable translation of sentences and convey the meaning, not a word for word or literal translation. Every sentence is graded using a 0 to 4 scale on it’s understandability (4 being clearly understandable and 0 having no meaning). A grade of 85+% of sentences with 3 and 4 is our minimum standard. The rating specifics are: Grade 4 – The sentence is clearly understandable to a native speaker on the first reading although it may contain minor errors. Grade 3 – The sentence is partially understandable to a native speaker on the first reading. Parts of the sentence may be unclear, or relationships among entities within the sentence are vague. Grade 2 – The general topic of the sentence is evident because one or more Noun phrases are translated intelligibly. There are parts of the sentence that are unclear and relationships among the parts of the sentence are unclear or in error. Grade 1 – At least one element of the sentence is identifiable on first reading.
