Truphone Anywhere for BlackBerry works by asking you whether you want to make the call with Truphone whenever you dial an international number from your home country. Truphone Anywhere works by making a local call to a domestic Truphone server, which then connects the long-distance part of the call over the internet. Because most BlackBerry users are contract customers, the local call to Truphone is, typically, free because it uses bundled minutes from the customer’s usual cellular service provider.
