How does transfering credits to the DNP program work?
Students who have taken graduate level coursework may request that some of the coursework be applied to their DNP programs of study. A student who completed a masters degree at any other accredited university may apply up to 30 quarter credits from their previous degree toward the DNP. A student who completed a Master of Nursing degree at UW may apply all credits to the DNP. Students should include the transfer courses in their programs of study. Upon approval of the program of study by the Supervisory Committee, Christine Noyes will petition the Graduate School on behalf of the student to apply these courses to DNP degree requirements. If a student is requesting that a specific required DNP course be waived, the process outlined in Academic Services Memorandum 33 should be followed. Approval of course equivalency/waiver should be included in the program of study.
