PRT is a type of ABA; a data based improvement upon the traditional procedures. PRT uses specific motivational procedures that remedy a phenomenon called learned helplessness. It works because there is a motivator that makes the child want to work to accomplish the task at hand, the reward for accomplishing the task has a direct connection to it.
