How does the Walsh Waste Tracker Program reduce hospital spending?
Cost Reduction is based upon three principles: 1. A significant proportion of biomedical waste is actually regular garbage. 2. Eliminating the regular garbage from the biomedical waste stream will reduce costs, labor, and handling risks. 3. Effective, long term reductions can only be achieved by sensitizing users to problems, monitoring the waste stream, and following up regularly with waste producers who are not conforming.
