The shortlist of 10 contenders for the 2008 BBC Sports Personality of the Year will be announced on the One Show on BBC One from 1900 GMT on Monday 1 December and will also appear on the Sports Personality website. It will be drawn up having canvassed the nominations of sporting experts from nearly 40 magazines and newspapers. We appreciate your interest and hope you cast your vote by phone for one of the 10 contenders on the night of the show – Sunday 14 December, BBC One, 1900-2100 GMT.
