How does the Visitor ID number become the visitor’s name?
When a visitor registers with a website or blog, or leaves a comment, they voluntarily submit their name or username and visitor details which are stored in a browser cookie on their site. Woopra pulls that data into the Desktop Application, Woopra Web App, and other third-party plugins or add-ons and changes the Visitor ID number to their name. Instead of tracking Visitor #29951438, you are tracking Sally Anderson through your site. If the visitor clears or deletes their browser cookies, or logs in from a different computer or IP address, the cookie information is gone or may be different from the original information, and Woopra will once again track them by their Visitor ID number. Sites using customization features with the Woopra Developers options in the Woopra JavaScript may be able to pull registered user data from their site’s database, overcoming the limitations of cookie-based data.
