How does the VEN relate to other Australian Government broadband initiatives?
The VEN will complement the National Broadband Network (NBN) initiative and extend the Digital Education Revolution to the vocational education and training (VET) sector. It will be implemented in consultation with all sectors. Implementation of the VEN will take account of existing arrangements relating to the provision of online connectivity to TAFE institutions, the existing planning and educational priorities of the state/territory authorities which are responsible for TAFEs and developments in the wider telecommunications environment (in particular the design and implementation of the NBN).
