How does the used textbook process work?
Bring your used books to our buy-backs, held at the beginning and end of each semester. Dates and our buyback policy… Books that are on our buyback list, in other words, books that we know instructors are planning to use in the next term, will be purchased from students at 50% of the retail price, whether you bought the book as used or as new. That means that if you bought the book new, it will only cost you 50% of the new price, after buyback. If you bought the book used (75% of retail) and sell it at the buyback, it has only cost you 25% of the new price! The book buyer, a representative from a major national textbook wholesaler, may buy back books that are not on Camosun’s list, but may be required elsewhere. These books may be bought back at less than 50%. If you have books from the recent semester that you would like to sell but that are not on our buyback list, they may be on a future list.
