How does the Urban Outfitters stuff work?
Urban Outfitters will select designs from our stores that they’re interested in testing and then we contact the artist, pay them a flat fee, and then print and ship the shirts to Urban. We work with a manufacturer in California who handles all the production and fulfillment on the UO orders and we are paid a percentage fee from the total order. Every few weeks we send t-shirt designs to them, they select the ones they like as test shirts and if they work, they place an order. We also do the same thing for skateboard designs, although since this is a new product at UO, they don’t test as frequently as the t-shirt buyers do. We have a manufacturer who we then give the order to and they print and ship the shirts. A test order will be about a 500 piece order and a full order is about 2500-3k pieces (Urban buys anywhere from $6 to $8.) The relationship with them has been good and the shirts have been doing well enough where they continue ordering, but there’s no contract or guarantees. They
