How does the updating work?
A scheduler is automatically installed onto the practice server. This sits in the SYSTRAY and runs as a process on the clinical server. At a set day and time (which can be chosen by the practice), DXS connects directly to the DXS server and updates the database. The process only updates incremental changes and usually takes about 10 minutes to complete. The scheduler is normally set to run overnight and should therefore not clash with any backup routines or other programmes running.
