How does the Township make the decision to replace a vehicle?
The Township assigns each vehicle type with an estimated use life. The Township’s Public Works Fleet Division then tracks repair costs on an annual basis. When repair costs exceed or are soon expected to exceed projections, staff weighs this data against estimated costs to replace the vehicle, leading to a determination to either repair or replace the vehicle.
