How does the Topsail Tutoring program work?
Our approach is simple; we work with you to determine your needs and goals. Then we match your child with one of our skilled and experienced instructors. The program begins by focusing on an overall approach to learning: study skills and academic organization. The goal is always to address immediate needs and to have a lasting impact on performance and confidence. Our instructors primarily use the curriculum your child is using in the classroom rather than having an entirely separate study program like some center-based programs. We have found that this approach more quickly and directly improves the student’s performance and confidence in the classroom. Also, the student feels he is getting help rather than getting extra work. Following the school’s curriculum allows the student to keep up with his studies and allows the tutor an opportunity to review anything the child did not understand in the classroom.
