How does the sun, saltwater and pollution affect the outside of my board?
Our boards take a beating in and out of the water. A board surface is constantly exposed to several environmental hazards – sun (UV), salt corrosion, pollution and poor handling. The sun is public enemy number one! Similar to our skin, Ultraviolet rays stimulate free radical destruction resulting in the physical break-down and yellowing of fiberglass. Add-in corrosive salt water, oils, tar and pollution and you have the ingredients for a very worn, faded and bruised finish.
