How does the structure of intestine cells help it perform its functions?

Nerve cells: they are long and thin with long extending dendrites. This helps them reach the next nerve cell, and so they can quickly and efficiently pass on messages. Intenstine cells: Uh. Not too sure about this one. I’m guessing it’ll be something to do with it being flexible so that stuff will be able to pass through, and also about reabsorbing the bits from food that the body needs. Skin cells: the receptors beneath the skin help detect temperature changes quickly so that the body can change to keep the body temperature constant. The cells are compact, helps protect your body.
