This will allow a college/campus to call any area where there is a VCCS College/Campus. For example, the caller could place an on-net or off-net call (on-net = call to another VCCS site, off-net = call to a destination that is local to one of the VCCS sites) by entering “85403232341”: 8 = the access code to capture the voice over IP trunk line on the PBX or Centrex. The access code is based on what’s available on the customers PBX or what VITA has determined is available for use; therefore, this number(s) will vary for each college/campus. 540 = the area code in which the college/campus is located. 3232341 = the off-net local number that is being called. Note: Only the local exchange numbers for each college/campus are placed in the local 3640 router (Gateway Device).
