How does the SLR-PLUS® revision stem differ from the SL-PLUS® stem?

0

With its specially-designed stem geometry (stem length, width and neck length) the SLR-PLUS® revision stem confers a primary stability that is adapted to the specific circumstances of revision procedures. This is achieved by moving the load transfer point distally, i.e. the existing load transfer point is relocated towards the distal end. Anchorage is therefore moved to the more distally located, undamaged load-bearing areas of cortical bone. The pre-conditions are the same as for the SL-PLUS® stem: vital, load-bearing bone substance has to be present at the point where the stem is to be anchored in a primary stabile position so that secondary osseointegration can occur.
